Nurse Assistant – Certified

Program Description

This program is designed to prepare students for employment as a Certified Nurse Assistant in a variety of settings. Students will learn patient care, observation and communication skills with an emphasis on caring for the geriatric resident in a long-term care facility. The program prepares students to be successful in the workplace by teaching employability skills and modeling workplace expectations. The program includes both classroom instruction (theory) and 100 required clinical hours.

Enrollment Process

STEP 1

Contact Registration Staff at (909) 793-3115 ext. 500 or complete an Interest Form.

STEP 2

Complete registration information that is emailed to you and schedule an appointment to meet in person with Student Services, Registration staff.

STEP 3

Meet in person at the site to complete the enrollment process (Bring legal ID & original social security card)

STEP 4

First 2 weeks of school submit Physical Examination (Required form available in Student Services)

Program Prerequisites

Basic reading test required. Call for testing appointment. Testing is free.

Requirements

Students must provide a physical examination, TB screening, seasonal flu shot, COVID-19 Vaccine & shoes

Notes

Students are required to attend all class/clinical sessions as scheduled. All class/clinical sessions are held in person.

Program Costs

$2,999

Funding assistance is available for those who qualify.

Tuition Includes

BLS CPR/AED Certification from the American Heart Association, Uniforms, Textbook, Workbook, Fingerprinting, & State Testing Fees

Program Requirements:

  • Maintain a minimum of 70% grade average and 93% attendance
  • Must be able to perform job functions (physical and sensory demands)
  • Must be able to clear a criminal background check (Live Scan). CDPH makes the final approval of Certification. For questions, please refer to www.cdph.ca.gov
  • Clinical site training (at least 100 hours) is a requirement of this program
  • Upon completion of the program, students should possess a willingness to secure employment
  • CIEL or CIEW. Uniforms are available for purchase at the school
